Our iconographic atelier offers to you, from the rich
tradition of the Church, icones made in the original technologies, suitables
for valuable presets to important occasions.
1,The used materials and their symbolism
The symbolism of icones is very rich, not only in colours
and lines, but also in the materials of which they are made. Since they are
indivisible parts of the liturgy and
divine service, they are performed of the best natural materials, in order to
pay honor to our only Creator.
According to
holy Maxim the Confessor, the world is a large cosmic church, in vhich man
is the priest. The icone becomes so a microchurch, which joins the various
components of the visible word. The wooden table and flax-line thus symbolize
the vegetable kingdom, the pigments and chalk – the minerals, egg with gelatine
– the mineral kingdom.
2,The technique of egg tempera
Yolk diluted
with water was a good binding link of colours since long ago. In the 15 th
century it was successively replaced with oil, but in some countries,f.i. in
Greece and Russia, the tradition of yolk tempera continued. The great
advantages of this painting technique are proved by the conserved works of old
masters, which maintained their freshness and unchanged colour tones. The
colours of 500 – 600 years old icones are up today very beautiful, after
clining of the darked lacquers.
3,Wall paintings with egg tempera
Since the oldes times, egg tempera is also used in wall
painting, in the so-called „secco“ painting ( on dry plaster ). Therefore wall
painting in chapels or evangelisation centres is our further offer. For wall
paintings a convention is necessary some months earlier – and a healthy
wall.
4,The delivery and payment conditions
The icones presented in this offer are only the
fundamental assortment, which we want to propagate according to your individual
wisches successively. The time of finishing an icone is at least 3 –4 weeks.The
icone may be sent for casch on delivery, but for security, it is better to take
over it personally.
5,The prices depend on three factors
